Why? Why do i have to vote?
STOP SAYING THAT SOLDIERS/SAILORS/AIRMEN/MARINES DIED SO YOU CAN HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE!
I don't even know where to begin with that grossly inaccurate statement. So i won't.
The fact is that i honestly believe things will remain the same until we either: A. Stop being sheep and pay attention. or B. Simply stop voting. Can you imagine the real change that would come about if NO ONE went to the polls? What would happen if we turned as one to the government and told them as a single voice, "NO MORE!"
And no, I don't think that it's my "Patriotic Duty" to have to choose between voting for a complete ass or a total a turd. I wouldn't trust either of them to boil water, let alone hold any kind of office. Hell, i am surprised that our current campaigners don't have that Darthvadar theme playing every time they walk into a room!
It's time to take the power back! Remember that at one time, we were sovereign. Remember that we were once a Republic. For those that say, "There are people who died for your right to vote," once long ago, a gathering of several states fought a war against the greatest world power for real freedom. And even though it sounds unconventional, they never wanted this.
I will close with a quote:
"Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention. Have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths"
